Application Process
Getting Your Application Started
- In the Fall preceding your child’s potential enrollment you are invited to attend an admissions event.
- Complete and return an application form along with the non-refundable application fee of $60.00 made payable to The Waldorf School of Philadelphia and send it to the Director of Admissions. You may download application and reference forms here:
- Applications are considered incomplete until the teacher reference form and a copy of your child’s current school records have been received by The Waldorf School of Philadelphia.
- We continue to accept applications on a rolling basis until all of our classes are full. If a wait pool is established, the school will consider students from the pool who contribute to balanced classrooms.
- Receipt of your completed application will always be acknowledged. Shortly thereafter we will schedule your child’s visit to the school.Grade school applicants will be invited to a meeting with the class teacher. For students applying for 2nd-8th grade a three-day classroom visit will be arranged.Applicants for the early childhood program will be invited to attend a group play date where you will meet Early Childhood teachers.
- Enrollment contracts are sent with the letter of acceptance. A non-refundable deposit of $500 is to be returned with the signed enrollment contract. Families have ten days from the date of the letter to let the school know if they plan to attend.
- Families may apply for tuition assistance for children entering their kindergarten year and for children in the grades. Our birthday cut off for kindergarten is five years of age by 1st June.The Waldorf School of Philadelphia processes tuition assistance applications through School and Student Services (SSS). Visit www.sss.nais.org for more information. The deadline for completed tuition assistance applications is January 31st 2013. Families will be notified about their financial award by mid-March 2013.In addition to tuition assistance, The Waldorf School of Philadelphia offers different payment plans to help families manage their tuition costs.
